A beautiful route covering 170 Km which started out from the centre of Florence, where a photographic exhibition organized by Spek Design of Stuttgart had been set up at the Grand Hotel, continued on past Piazzale Michelangelo and right into the heart of the Chianti.

The first stop was in the square of Greve in Chianti where, after a check point (which was present at each of the various halts), again created by Spek Design, journalists could take a break by walking the few metres to the Salumeria Falorni to taste its dressed pork products.

At the Castle of Volpaia it was instead possible to try out the typical oil and vinegar of the area, while the cellars of the Marchesi Antinori at the Badia a Passignano offered a pack of their famous wines. The next stop was at Villa Antinori, where a small exhibition had been set up to display the mechanical parts of the new SLK model, before going on to "Il Masseto" Restaurant, which was the last stop on the route.

In other words the meeting between the beauties of the Tuscan countryside and the wonders of art found a common ground with the design and technology of the new Mercedes-Benz SLK.
